SECI awards 1,500 MW renewable energy tender to Waaree, NTPC, and ACME

The Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has concluded an auction for a 1,500 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) peak power tender. The auction resulted in tariffs ranging between ₹5.99/kWh and ₹6/kWh for four hours of assured peak power supply.

Waaree Forever Energies, a subsidiary of Waaree Energies, was the largest successful bidder, securing 700 MW/2,800 MWh at a tariff of ₹5.99/kWh. NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) was awarded 500 MW/2,000 MWh at ₹6/kWh, and ACME Solar Holdings secured 300 MW/1,200 MWh at the same rate.

SECI Managing Director Akash Tripathi stated that these price discoveries demonstrate how renewable energy and storage economics are evolving to meet growing electricity demand with clean, reliable, and affordable power. The projects will be connected to the interstate transmission system (ISTS).
