Second-hand markets promote circular economy in Spanish towns
Several second-hand markets held in Spanish municipalities have seen high levels of community participation, promoting circular economy and reuse principles.
In Binéfar, the Chamarilandia event reached a record participation level with over thirty stalls located at the Laplaza Padre Llanas. Organized by the Department of the Environment and supported by the Provincial Council of Huesca, the market featured items such as clothing, books, and furniture. The event also included a solidarity stall for the Red Cross, allowing citizens to donate unused items.
Meanwhile, Cabanillas del Campo hosted its 17th edition of its second-hand market at the Plaza del Pueblo. This event featured more than 60 stalls offering a wide variety of goods, including toys, small appliances, tools, and vinyl records. Organized by the local City Council through the Youth Center, the market aims to encourage the reuse of products and remains a popular social activity in the municipality.
