Second Infantry Battalion celebrates unit day in Štip

The Second Infantry Battalion celebrated its unit day at the ‘Jane Sandanski’ barracks in Štip. The ceremony highlighted the unit's history, combat traditions, and its ongoing preparations for upcoming NATO exercises.

Lieutenant Colonel Risto Stoev, commander of the battalion, noted that the unit's roots trace back to the 14th Youth Macedonian National Liberation Strike Brigade ‘Dimitar Vlahov,’ which was formed on September 17, 1944. Since 1996, the unit has been known by the name ‘Scorpions,’ a title intended to symbolize professionalism, combat spirit, and identity. The battalion has undergone various organizational transformations to enhance its training and operational capabilities for both domestic and international operations.
