Secret Handshake installs satirical Greenland arcade games in DC

The anonymous art collective Secret Handshake has installed a satirical arcade game installation at the District of Columbia War Memorial in Washington, DC. The project, titled ‘Operation Epic Furious: Nuuk ‘Em All,’ mocks former US President Donald Trump’s previous interest in acquiring Greenland.

The installation features three functional retro-style arcade machines. The gameplay centers on a mission to seize Greenland for its rare-earth minerals, cryptocurrency mining, and golf course development. Players encounter various obstacles, including wildlife and other characters, while the game’s narrative satirizes the former president’s use of social media and gamer culture.

This installation follows the collective’s previous work, ‘Operation Epic Furious: Strait to Hell,’ which focused on conflict with Iran. Secret Handshake has a history of creating political satire, including previous works involving statues and oversized objects related to Trump and Jeffrey Epstein.
