Barron Trump targeted in threatening Iranian state television broadcast
The U.S. Secret Service is investigating a threatening video broadcast by Iranian state television targeting Barron Trump, the 20-year-old son of President Donald Trump. The approximately three-minute video, aired by IRIB and circulated by media affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), is titled ‘Where to Kill Barron Trump?’
The broadcast includes imagery of Barron Trump’s university, maps of the campus, and the vehicles used for his security escorts. It further alleges that his movements are being monitored and claims a $10 million reward has been offered for his assassination. Some reports suggest the imagery in the video may have been generated using artificial intelligence.
While the broadcast and the Secret Service’s investigation are confirmed, claims that Iranian intelligence has successfully penetrated Barron Trump’s security or tracked his private communications have not been independently verified. Secret Service spokesperson Nate Herring stated that the agency is investigating anything perceived as a threat to its protectees but declined to comment on specific intelligence matters for operational security reasons.
This incident follows previous Iranian-linked media threats against the Trump family, including a July broadcast targeting First Lady Melania Trump regarding her security details.
