Secretariat of Education of Guanajuato investigates suspected data leak

The Secretariat of Education of Guanajuato (SEG) in Mexico is investigating a reported data leak involving the personal information of approximately 95,000 employees. The leaked data, allegedly shared in CSV format on social media, reportedly includes sensitive details such as names, addresses, RFC, CURP, telephone numbers, and official email addresses.

Following the reports of the leak on Saturday night, the SEG website experienced a period of downtime on Sunday, though officials have not yet established a definitive link between the technical failure and the data exposure. The department has confirmed it is conducting a technical review to verify the authenticity of the leak and determine the cause of the website's instability.
