Secretariat of Social Assistance launches campaign against child labor

The Secretariat of Social Assistance and Citizenship (SAS) is launching the ‘Infância sem Correntes’ (Childhood without Chains) campaign to prevent and combat child labor and other rights violations. The initiative aims to mobilize commerce, civil society, and protection networks to increase awareness and facilitate the reporting of cases involving children and adolescents.

A key component of the campaign is the ‘Espaço Amigo da Infância’ seal, which will be awarded to partner commercial establishments committed to prevention and child rights awareness. To enhance accessibility, the campaign will integrate with the +CG mobile application, allowing citizens to report irregularities, consult certified establishments, and access information regarding children's rights.

Educational materials will be provided to help the public identify child labor and understand legal regulations. Reporting can be conducted via the 156 telephone service or through specific contacts for the Specialized Social Approach Service (SEAS).
