Secretlab Magnus Evo XL Gaming Desk Review Highlights Design and Build

Secretlab has expanded its desk range with the Magnus Evo XL, a large‑format, electrically height‑adjustable gaming desk priced from €599. It is offered in two widths (150 cm and 177 cm) and features a dual‑motor frame, integrated power routing, a fold‑down cable tray and optional monitor and laptop arms. Unlike the pricier Magnus Pro XL, the Evo XL uses a mixed‑material tabletop to avoid interference with Qi chargers and Hall‑effect keyboards, though this results in some compromises in surface feel and customization.

In hands‑on testing the desk’s assembly required two people because of its substantial weight, and the optional VESA adapters use hex‑socket screws, a minor inconvenience compared with standard thumb‑screws. Power‑draw measurements were taken at idle, normal and heavy loads and compared with a budget Ikea model. Shipping for European customers is handled from a central warehouse in Poland, while the product is labelled “Designed in Singapore, Made in China.” The review concludes that the Magnus Evo XL delivers solid stability and cable management for demanding setups, but its high price and heavy bulk may limit appeal to solo users.
