Secretome Therapeutics Expands Leadership Team for Rare‑Disease Development

Secretome Therapeutics, a clinical‑stage biotechnology firm developing therapies derived from neonatal cardiac progenitor cells, announced a reshaped senior leadership team. The company hired four new executives: Teji Singh, MD as chief medical officer; David Chapman as senior vice president of operations; Karin Lucas, PhD as vice president of medical affairs; and Maggie Loeffler, CPA as vice president of finance and administration. Marshelle Smith, MD moved from chief medical officer to chief development officer.

CEO and co‑founder Vinny Jindal said the expanded team positions Secretome to advance its lead candidate, STM‑01, into late‑stage clinical studies for Duchenne muscular dystrophy and to grow its platform for other rare and underserved diseases. Earlier in the year the company secured $30 million in Series A funding from RA Capital Management. Founded in Baltimore in 2018, Secretome relocated its headquarters to Plano, Texas, in 2023 and maintains a presence in Dallas. Singh brings more than three decades of rare‑disease drug development experience, most recently from Sarepta Therapeutics and earlier roles at Sanofi/Genzyme.
