Sector 6 approves plans to extend Ciurel Passage to Bucharest Ring Road

The Sector 6 Local Council has approved a project to prepare documentation for extending the Ciurel Passage to the Bucharest Ring Road. This initiative, promoted by interim mayor Paul Moldovan, aims to create a new road connection to alleviate heavy traffic congestion on Iuliu Maniu Boulevard.

The project involves several administrative steps, including the development of a Zonal Urban Plan (PUZ) and a formal association between the Sector 6 administration and the Municipality of Bucharest. This partnership is intended to facilitate the exchange of technical data and documentation required for the project's realization.

While the project is currently in the documentation and planning phase rather than the construction phase, it represents a strategic effort to improve connectivity between Bucharest's road network and external arteries. Another proposed solution to reduce pressure on Iuliu Maniu Boulevard is the Radial 1 Road, which is reportedly at a more advanced stage of development.
