Sector 6 launches free home care for 100 elderly residents
Elderly residents in Bucharest's Sector 6 who are unable to manage independently can now access free home care services. The program is designed to support 100 individuals and is funded by non-reimbursable European funds through the ‘Young Heart, Life in Motion’ project, supported by the European Social Fund Plus.
Qualified caregivers, coordinated by DGASPC Sector 6 specialists, will visit beneficiaries to assist with personal hygiene, meal preparation and serving, shopping, maintaining cleanliness, and daily activities. Support is tailored to individual needs through personalized care plans.
To qualify, applicants must be pensioners or at least 65 years old in the case of medical retirement, reside in Sector 6, be unable to manage household tasks independently, and have an income below 4,325 lei. Interim Mayor Paul Moldovan stated that the goal is to ensure necessary help reaches seniors in their own homes.
