Securitize launches tokenized U.S. stocks on Solana
Securitize has launched ‘Securitize Stocks’, a service that brings 12 major U.S. equities onto the Solana blockchain. The initial lineup includes high-market-cap companies such as Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, Alphabet, Tesla, Meta, Amazon, Netflix, Circle, MicroStrategy, Palantir, and SpaceX.
Unlike synthetic products that merely track price movements, these tokens are structured as security entitlements under Article 8 of the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC). This legal framework ensures each token is backed 1:1 by an underlying real share, preserving economic benefits like dividends and, where applicable, voting rights. The underlying shares are not intended to be lent out.
Trading is conducted through Securitize’s registered broker-dealer platform, with settlements occurring in the USDC stablecoin. The service is available to eligible investors in the United States, the European Union, and other permitted jurisdictions. While initial trading occurs during extended hours on Solana, the company aims to expand to 24/7 availability and eventually list on upcoming digital venues from the New York Stock Exchange and OKXICE.
