Securitize rebuts anti-tokenization campaign in Wall Street Journal
Securitize has launched a full-page rebuttal in The Wall Street Journal following an anti-tokenization advertisement published by the Common Sense Leadership Fund. The original ad, which appeared in the weekend edition of October 24-25, 2026, warned public company CEOs to opt out of tokenized stock trading on unregulated platforms.
The Common Sense Leadership Fund's advertisement highlighted several risks, including price disparities, obscured ownership, impaired capital raising, and potential CEO liability. It urged executives to use a 30-day window to object to blockchain copies of their shares to avoid market manipulation and cybersecurity threats.
Securitize CEO Carlos Domingo characterized the initial ad as “misleading,” arguing that it conflates unregulated offshore synthetics with proper tokenization conducted under U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations. Running under the banner #TokenizationDoneRight, Securitize’s response emphasizes that tokenization on regulated venues eliminates the risks described by the Common Sense Leadership Fund.
