Security and employment emerge as key political priorities in Argentina and Peru

In Argentina, Buenos Aires provincial deputy Diego Garciarena, representing the UCR + Cambio Federal bloc, has proposed a law to establish ‘Safe Educational Corridors.’ Co-authored by deputy Matías Civale, the initiative aims to improve security, road safety, lighting, and accessibility for students and staff near schools in both public and private institutions. The project seeks to standardize safety measures across the province, building on existing municipal efforts in districts like Almirante Brown and Quilmes.

In Peru, a survey conducted by the Universidad Continental Graduate School identifies citizen security and job creation as the primary concerns for the country’s future leadership. According to the study, 65.7% of respondents identified public security as the most urgent social challenge. Regarding economic priorities, 42.6% emphasized the need for job generation, while 41.7% focused on driving economic growth.
