State of Mexico’s Mando Unificado cuts vehicle theft by 53%
The Mando Unificado Zona Oriente, operating in 15 municipalities of the State of Mexico, reported a 53 percent drop in vehicle theft during the second quarter of 2026. Authorities secured 20,152 vehicles, of which 6,655 were reported stolen and 13,497 showed other irregularities. The operation also recovered merchandise valued at 121,081,013 pesos and seized 49,563,815 pesos in cash. The effort was coordinated by President Claudia Sheinbaum and Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez as part of the Plan Integral for the Zona Oriente, with support from the three levels of government and the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).
