Security developments in Niger and Gabon involve new police facilities and training graduations
In Niger, the Tchangarey district in Niamey has inaugurated a new police station. The facility, covering 7,380 square meters and containing twelve offices, was officially commissioned on October 2, 2026. Deputy Director General of the National Police, Commissioner Ousmane Manzo, stated that the infrastructure aims to strengthen security measures against crime and foster trust between the police and the local population. The station is under the leadership of Commissioner Habsatou Mahamane Ali.
In Gabon, the National Police Sub-Officers School in Tchibanga celebrated the graduation of 78 trainees. The ceremony, attended by Minister of the Interior Adrien Nguema Mba, marked a significant milestone for the institution, which has undergone rehabilitation following a period of neglect. The graduates completed cycles for the Technical Capacity Diploma (BCT) and the Technical Aptitude Certificate (CAT), contributing to the school's mission as a center for national and sub-regional police training.
