Security forces arrest militants and suspects in Northeast India operations
Security forces in Northeast India have conducted several successful operations targeting insurgents and criminals. In Assam’s Tinsukia district, the 20 Assam Rifles apprehended an active NSCN (IM) cadre, Yangsin Khocha, during a special operation in the Ledo area. In Manipur, coordinated efforts by the Manipur Police, Assam Rifles, and central security forces led to the arrest of seven militants from banned groups, including the KCP, UNLF, PLA, and KYKL. One of the detainees was a woman cadre from the KCP (People’s War Group). Additionally, a cache of weapons, including pistols, rifles, and grenades, was seized in the Bishnupur district.
In a separate interstate matter, Manipur and Tamil Nadu police arrested two individuals, Manik Uddin Laskar and Bhagabati Majhi, in the Jiribam district. The arrests were made in connection with a missing woman case originally registered in Tamil Nadu.
