Security forces capture gang members in Ecuador and Colombia
Ecuadorian army forces arrested Fabricio M. S. N., known as “Gordo Zapatón”, in the Pascuales district of Guayaquil. Identified as a member of the Los Tiguerones criminal group, he was suspected of extortion, kidnapping and contract killings. During the raid, officers seized a .38 revolver, ammunition, high‑capacity magazines, a Glock pistol, a MAC submachine‑gun magazine and a cellphone.
Colombian police, in coordination with the army, captured an individual known as “Nieto” in the Cauca department. He is alleged to belong to the Dagoberto Ramos structure and was implicated in arms trafficking, cocaine smuggling, extortion, selective murders and attacks on security forces, including a July 1 assault that injured a soldier. Authorities confiscated a 5.56 mm rifle, a Beretta PX4 pistol, associated accessories, various ammunition, and 410 g of cocaine.
