Security forces conduct drug and weapons crackdowns in Saudi Arabia and Egypt

Security authorities in Saudi Arabia and Egypt have conducted significant operations targeting drug trafficking and illegal weapons.

In Saudi Arabia, the General Directorate of Narcotics Control arrested several individuals across multiple regions. In Al Jouf, two citizens were detained for possessing regulated medical substances. In Jazan, an Ethiopian national was arrested for promoting hashish. In Jeddah, three citizens were apprehended for trafficking methamphetamine (Shabu) and possessing 28,500 amphetamine tablets. Authorities have referred all suspects to the Public Prosecution.

In Egypt, security forces from the Qalyubia Security Directorate launched a campaign in the Toukh district targeting cafes and vital areas to combat lawbreaking. The operation resulted in the seizure of narcotics and a shotgun, along with the arrest of over 12 individuals found in possession of white weapons. The suspects and seized items have been handed over to the Public Prosecution for investigation.
