Security forces bust terrorist hideout in Rajouri, Jammu‑Kashmir
On 31 July 2026, a joint team of the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police conducting a search operation in the dense Bangai forest of the Thana Mandi area in Rajouri district uncovered a temporary terrorist hideout.
The raid seized food supplies – two packets of rice, instant noodles, a knife, a lighter, a plastic sheet, an old blanket, a gas‑stove nozzle, two candles and a plastic bottle – and led the forces to place the area on alert, seal off the surroundings and launch a wider sweep of the forest.
Officials noted that earlier operations in Rajouri have also uncovered weapon caches, including ten under‑barrel grenade launchers, AK‑47 rifles, pistols, automatic weapons and several kilograms of explosive material.
