Security forces targeted in deadly attacks across southeastern Iran
At least five Iranian military and police personnel were killed and several others wounded during a series of four attacks across southeastern Iran within a 24-hour period. The violence occurred in the Nikshahr, Nosratabad, Faryab, and Jaleq areas of the Sistan and Baluchestan provinces.
The People's Fighters Front, an alliance of Baluch armed organizations formed in late 2025, claimed responsibility for three of the assaults. This coalition includes Jaish al-Adl, a Sunni Baluch group known for targeting Iranian security forces.
In Nikshahr, gunmen opened fire on two vehicles carrying military personnel from the 88th Armored Division. Near Zahedan, a police commando patrol was ambushed on the Lakhshak road in Nosratabad. While Iranian authorities confirmed fatalities, they disputed casualty figures provided by local human rights monitors, who warned the death toll could rise.
