Security leadership changes in Rimini and San Marino

Several high-ranking security officials in the Rimini region and San Marino are transitioning to new roles.

Colonel Ruggero Gerardo Rugge is concluding a three-year tenure as the head of the Carabinieri Provincial Command in Rimini. He has been appointed to lead the 13th Carabinieri Regiment in Gorizia, a unit involved in coordinating international peacekeeping missions. During his time in Rimini, Rugge focused on community policing, crime prevention for the elderly, and educational outreach regarding legality.

In San Marino, General Maurizio Faraone has announced his departure from the leadership of the Gendarmerie after eleven years in command. Faraone, who joined the body in 2007, stated that he requested to end his term ahead of the standard age limit. He has expressed his availability to remain in the role until a successor is identified to ensure security continuity for the Republic.
