Security officers lead breast cancer awareness march in Wa

Female officers from the Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana Police Service, and Ghana Prisons Service conducted a colorful march through the streets of Wa to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Dressed in uniform and pink ribbons, the officers participated in a float to promote the importance of early detection and prevention of the disease.

The campaign was led by Deputy Superintendent of Immigration Prospera Soliku, President of the Immigration Ladies Association (IMMILAC) in the Upper West Region. Under her leadership, the annual Pink October drive has expanded from an internal program into a community-wide initiative.

Speaking at the Ghana Immigration Service Regional Headquarters, Soliku shared that the cause is deeply personal, noting she has lost an aunt, a close friend, and the friend's sister to breast cancer. This year's theme, ‘Every Story Is Unique, Every Journey Matters,’ emphasizes the need for care, compassion, and support for those affected by the disease.
