Security operations expanded in Malatya and Famagusta

Security and traffic inspections have been intensified in Malatya, Turkey, to ensure student safety. Coordinated by the Malatya Governor's Office and implemented by the Provincial Gendarmerie Command, the operations took place between October 19 and 23, 2026. A total of 704 personnel and 236 patrols were deployed to monitor school surroundings and manage traffic during student arrival and departure times.

In Famagusta, Cyprus, authorities have expanded security efforts through the ‘Safe Environment Project’. Following the ‘Safe School Project’, tourism police are now conducting inspections in the city center and surrounding villages. These operations aim to maintain public order and identify individuals residing in the country without legal residency permits.
