Puebla reports economic growth and increased federal funding

Puebla is experiencing significant economic and fiscal growth. According to records from the Secretaría de Hacienda y Crédito Público, the state and its municipalities received 61.2 billion pesos in federal participations and contributions during the first half of 2026. This represents a nominal growth of approximately 8.26 percent compared to the previous year.

Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier highlighted the state's position as a strategic industrial hub during the fourth edition of Mexico’s Industry Supply Chain. He noted that Puebla saw an 8 percent growth in manufacturing industries during the first quarter of 2026, contributing to a 3.1 percent overall economic advancement in the region. The state government aims to strengthen industrial value chains and attract investment through improved infrastructure and legal certainty.

In addition to industrial developments, social welfare programs are active in the region. The Sistema Estatal para el Desarrollo Integral de la Familia (SEDIF) recently delivered 729 food baskets to 243 beneficiaries in the microregion 07 to support vulnerable households.
