SEDIF rehabilitates school kitchens in Querétaro
The State DIF (SEDIF) has reinforced school nutrition programs through the rehabilitation of kitchen classrooms in Querétaro. Car Herrera de Kuri, president of the SEDIF Board, and Huimilpan Municipal President Jairo Iván Morales Martínez delivered the renovated kitchen at the Cristóbal Colón Elementary School in Huitrón, benefiting more than 35 students.
This year, the agency coordinated with the Querétaro State Institute of Physical Educational Infrastructure (IFEQ) to remodel food preparation spaces in the municipalities of Querétaro, Amealco, and Huimilpan. The initiative targets facilities that were previously in poor condition, hindering program operations. The goal is to ensure school breakfasts are prepared in dignified spaces that meet high quality standards.
In Huimilpan, local authorities reported exceeding a goal of 100,000 hot breakfasts and noted that maintenance continues for the municipality's 39 kitchen classrooms. The rehabilitation work included repairs to roofs, walls, windows, and lighting.
