Sefaz-SP shuts down 135 irregular fuel stations in São Paulo

The São Paulo State Department of Finance and Planning (Sefaz-SP) has revoked the state registrations of 135 irregular fuel stations in the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo and Baixada Santista. During the ‘Operation Bomba Lacrada’ conducted this Thursday, authorities, supported by the Civil Police, also sealed fuel pumps to halt illegal activities.

According to Sefaz-SP, all inspected establishments had previously lost their operating authorization from the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) but continued to function regardless. The revocation of state registration prevents these businesses from issuing tax documents or purchasing fuel from distributors, effectively making regular operations impossible.

This action follows previous investigations known as ‘Operation Carbono Oculto’ and ‘Operation Bomba Oculta’. To resume operations, the affected stations must regularize their status with both the ANP and the State Department of Finance.
