Seferihisar hosts US and Canadian delegation to study local governance

A 30-person delegation from the United States and Canada, traveling with the Seferihisar Friendship Association, visited Seferihisar, Turkey, to observe local governance and sustainable development models.

Hosted by Seferihisar Municipality, the delegation received a presentation on local development, social municipalism, and tourism vision from Deputy Mayor Fuat Gümüş. The visitors inspected several local projects, including the Can Yücel Seed Center, the Public Market, the Children's Municipality, and the Seferiçınar Living Center for the elderly.

Participants compared these initiatives to similar models in North America, noting the integration of local seed preservation, producer support, and community-focused social services. The visit concluded with tours of the Sığacık area and the Teos Ancient City to explore the region's historical and cultural heritage.
