SEGA and GPTRACK50 reveal musical direction for Stupid Never Dies

SEGA and developer GPTRACK50 have released a new behind-the-scenes video titled ‘Deep Bite’ regarding the musical direction of the upcoming action RPG, Stupid Never Dies. Producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi explains that music was a foundational element of the development process rather than an afterthought.

The game utilizes a genre described as ‘Neo Pop Punk’ to capture the themes of young love and the protagonist Davy’s journey. While pop-punk serves as the core, the soundtrack incorporates a diverse mix of rock, metal, electronic music, and traditional Japanese instrumentation to reflect various characters and enemies.

The audio is designed to be dynamic, shifting in response to gameplay. The music transitions between tense exploration, high-energy combat, and relaxing lo-fi beats during downtime at the character's base. Stupid Never Dies is scheduled for release on October 21 for PS5 and PC via Steam.
