Sega announces Sonic Racing Cross World Season 2 update

Sega has announced a major update for Sonic Racing Cross World, designated as Season 2, which is scheduled for release on November 4. The update includes a free content expansion featuring a new Duel mode, which allows for 1v1 competitive play both online and offline. This mode introduces the Duel Dash mechanic, enabling players to make late-game comebacks based on their current standing.

Additional free updates include enhancements to the gadget system, such as the introduction of Super Slots and 15 new gadgets, as well as extended Festa event durations. For paid content, the Season Pass 2 will introduce various collaborations, including characters and elements inspired by Godzilla, Evangelion, Sanrio Puroland, Final Fantasy VII Remake, and Persona.

To promote the launch, Sega will host a live stream on November 3 featuring the development team and world tournament finalists. The broadcast will offer Twitch Drops for in-game rewards. Additionally, Hololive VTubers Nekomata Okayu and Inugami Korone are scheduled to host gameplay streams to showcase the new Duel mode.
