South Korean game developers showcase new titles at Tokyo Game Show 2026
South Korean gaming companies are showcasing new titles and collaborative strategies at Tokyo Game Show 2026.
NHN and NHN Playart highlighted their joint project, ‘Puchipoyong in a Fantasy World,’ which utilizes a collaborative model combining Japanese expertise in core gameplay design with South Korean strengths in rapid implementation and verification. The companies aim to apply this cross-border development framework to future projects.
NCSoft provided its first demonstration of the magic RPG ‘Astrae Oratio,’ developed by Dynamis One. The company is using the event to test gameplay involving story and combat integration before moving toward global closed beta testing.
Additionally, Smilegate is publishing ‘Dead Account: Two Blue Flames,’ developed by Ian Games. The title is a team-based roguelite RPG based on a manga IP, focusing on character synergy and tactical combat. Developers noted they are avoiding generative AI in art and in-game elements to preserve the original IP's integrity.
