SEGA reveals enhanced match engine details for Football Manager 27

SEGA and developer Sports Interactive have released detailed information regarding the enhanced match engine for Football Manager 27 (FM27). The upcoming title, scheduled for release on November 11, 2026, aims to provide a more realistic and tactically deep football management experience.

Key improvements include a new ‘Tactical Tweaks’ system, which allows managers to make real-time adjustments to team and individual player instructions without leaving the match view. The engine also features improved player movement and body types, developed through a partnership with Hawk-Eye Innovations using motion capture data and real match footage. This addition introduces new skill moves such as body feints and elasticos.

Furthermore, the game will feature a more realistic match tempo and a revamped ‘Shouts’ system that impacts player mental states. Physicality and stamina will play a larger role, with players showing visible signs of fatigue and exhaustion during matches. FM27 will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Mac, and Netflix.
