Tourism and cultural heritage in Murcia and Segovia
Various regions in Spain are highlighting their historical and spiritual heritage through tourism and cultural programming. In the Region of Murcia, destinations such as Caravaca de la Cruz, known for its medieval mysticism and the Sanctuary of the Vera Cruz, and Cehegín offer authentic experiences away from mass tourism. Additionally, Cartagena serves as a major historical hub, featuring the Roman Theatre, the Punic Wall, and the Roman Forum archaeological site.
In Segovia, new cultural initiatives are being introduced. A guided tour titled ‘Paseo por el Huerto Espiritual de San Juan de la Cruz’ is available to explore the spiritual legacy of the saint in spaces used for his prayer and contemplation. Furthermore, the tenth edition of the ‘Tiempo de Ánimas’ cycle will take place from October 28 to November 2, focusing on the connection between Spanish and Mexican traditions regarding the Day of the Dead, including lectures and gastronomic events.
