Segrià Gala promotes local agri-food sector in Torrebesses

The second edition of the Segrià Gala, ‘Terra de Bons Productes’, was held in Torrebesses to promote the local agri-food sector. The event brought together over one hundred participants, including producers, restaurateurs, and institutional representatives, to advocate for the quality and identity of regional products.

During the event, the Minister of Agriculture, Òscar Ordeig, announced that TV3 will launch a new weekly program titled ‘Gent de primera’ dedicated to agriculture, livestock, fishing, and food. Ordeig emphasized a model based on quality and added value rather than volume, stating, “The added value will not come from producing more, but from producing better.”

Chef Dani López provided the gastronomic experience, performing a showcooking session using ingredients from more than 20 local producers. Additionally, the Mayor of Torrebesses, Mario Urrea, called for increased cooperation between municipalities and administrations to support the future of rural areas.
