Segundo Cuastumal found dead in Las Canteras sector

The body of Segundo Cuastumal was discovered in the Las Canteras sector, located on the road connecting the municipalities of Ipiales and Potosí. The discovery follows several days of intensive search efforts led by community members, neighbors, and local leaders who navigated difficult terrain in hopes of finding him alive.

The recovery operation was conducted by the Fire Department, involving ten firefighters and two emergency vehicles to access the complex geographical area. While initially identified as an unidentified male, family members and community residents later confirmed the identity as Cuastumal.

Judicial authorities have taken custody of the body to begin investigations and forensic examinations. The exact circumstances and cause of death have not yet been disclosed by officials.
