Segurança Presente completes first month of operation in Resende

The 'Segurança Presente' program has completed its first month of operation in Resende, Brazil. Established on July 13 with a base in the Campos Elíseos neighborhood, the initiative aims to increase police presence and preventive actions in the Centro and Campos Elíseos regions.

During the initial month, security teams reported several outcomes, including the recovery of a stolen motorcycle and the seizure of narcotics, specifically 124 grams of marijuana, 17 grams of cocaine, and 14 grams of crack. Law enforcement also recorded instances of theft from commercial establishments, bodily injury, and drug trafficking.

In total, 63 individuals were taken to the 89th Police Station for legal procedures. The program utilizes military police, motorcycles, patrol vehicles, and a van, and includes social workers to assist vulnerable individuals. The base operates daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM to support residents, workers, and local businesses.
