Seia begins planting Bosque CineEco natural auditorium

The first 32 trees have been planted at Quinta da Nogueira in Seia to establish the ‘Bosque CineEco’. This reforestation project aims to create a natural outdoor auditorium designed to host film screenings for the Serra da Estrela International Environmental Film Festival in the future.

Participants in the planting included festival guests, filmmakers, programmers, local officials, and technicians from the Serra da Estrela Interpretation Centre. The 32 trees planted are native species—including pilriteiros, azereiros, bétulas, and tramazeiras—representing each edition of the festival. The project is intended to transform the urban space into a leisure area for the local population while mitigating the environmental impact of festival guests through verifiable territorial results.

The 32nd edition of the festival is currently underway, featuring 86 films in competition across various categories, including fiction and documentaries.
