Seifersdorf Castle reopens after 6.3 million euro renovation

Seifersdorf Castle, located near Dresden, has reopened to the public following a two-and-a-half-year renovation project. The restoration of the 16th-century residence, which had fallen into ruin, cost approximately 6.3 million euros.

The castle is noted for its neogothic character, a design attributed to the prominent 19th-century German architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel. While the recent works focused on securing the monument and restoring its historical appearance, conservationists have indicated that the project is ongoing. Full restoration of the entire site is expected to be completed by early 2027.
