Seifukan Gakuin to host entrepreneurship lecture for students

Seifukan Gakuin, a high school based in Akashi, Hyogo Prefecture, will host a special lecture on October 14, 2026, focused on solving social issues through business. The guest lecturer will be Naotomo Obayashi, the CEO of Another works, the company behind the side-job matching platform ‘Fukugyo Cloud’.

The initiative follows data from The Nippon Foundation’s ‘18-Year-Old Consciousness Survey,’ which indicates that Japanese youth feel less capable of changing society compared to their peers in the US, UK, China, South Korea, and India. In the 2026 survey, only 52.7% of Japanese 17–19-year-olds believed they could change their country or society through their own actions.

The session will consist of a lecture by Obayashi and group workshops where students will identify local social challenges and brainstorm business-driven solutions. Seifukan Gakuin aims to bridge the gap between traditional school curricula and the practical skills required in society through problem-based learning (PBL) and entrepreneurship support.
