Seijukai disability welfare provider enters bankruptcy

Seijukai, a disability welfare service provider based in Higashimatsushima, Miyagi Prefecture, has been ordered to undergo bankruptcy proceedings by the Sendai District Court Ishinomaki Branch. The decision was issued on August 18, 2026.

Established in 2022, the organization specialized in after-school day services and child development support, offering customized activities such as vegetable farming experiences. Despite these efforts, the company struggled to build a stable business foundation. According to Tokyo Shoko Research, the organization faced significant financial difficulties; for the fiscal year ending March 2024, it reported sales of 2.6 million yen against a net loss of 24 million yen.

As of the March 2024 fiscal year-end, total liabilities were approximately 54 million yen. The inability to recover performance led to a liquidity crisis, resulting in the legal filing. Lawyer Kentaro Matsuura has been appointed as the bankruptcy trustee.
