Seikel develops off-road upgrade kit for Volkswagen ID. Buzz
German company Seikel has developed a custom off-road upgrade kit for the Volkswagen ID. Buzz electric minivan. The package is designed for owners wishing to drive the vehicle on unpaved or forest roads without risking damage to the underbody.
The kit includes KW dampers, Eibach springs, and BF Goodrich Trail Terrain T/A tires mounted on 20-inch wheels. To improve protection, Seikel provides 5-millimeter aluminum skid plates for the front and rear axles, which replace standard plastic trims to protect the drive units and radiator assembly. These modifications increase the vehicle's ground clearance by 30 mm.
While the ID. Buzz features dual-motor all-wheel drive, the kit does not modify the vehicle's traction management system or add specific off-road traction control modes. The cost for the aluminum skid plates is approximately €1,390 before tax, and the total upgrade package, including suspension and wheels, is estimated to exceed $5,000.
