Seiko announces Edo Purple limited-edition watch collection

To celebrate its 145th anniversary, Japanese watchmaker Seiko has announced the Edo Purple collection, a series of six limited-edition timepieces scheduled for release in October 2026. The collection utilizes a distinctive shade of purple inspired by the traditional colors of Edo-period Tokyo, honoring the city where the company was founded in 1881.

The lineup includes several flagship models. The most exclusive is the Astron GPS Solar Dual-Time Chronograph HAB011, which features a titanium case and a gradient-finished purple dial, limited to 2,000 pieces worldwide. Other notable releases include the Prospex Speedtimer HBJ005, a solar-powered chronograph limited to 8,000 units, and the Prospex Alpinist HBC006.

Additional models in the collection include the Seiko 5 Sport and a new addition to the Presage Cocktail Time series. The Presage model features a purple dial inspired by the ‘Edo Murasaki’ cocktail. The collection aims to balance sportiness and elegance while reflecting the cultural heritage of Tokyo.
