Seiko highlights heritage and launches bonsai-inspired limited edition watch

Seiko is expanding its horological presence through both historical appreciation and new limited releases. A guide to vintage Seiko models highlights the brand's production between 1960 and 1995, noting the distinction between popular series like the Seiko 5 Sports, high-end King Seiko, and the premier Grand Seiko lines. Collectors often find value in specific dial colors and preserved conditions rather than just mechanical calibers.

In its current collections, Seiko has announced the Presage HCC009J1, a limited edition automatic watch inspired by the art of bonsai. Developed in collaboration with the Tokyo-based collective Tradman's Bonsai, the timepiece features a 38mm gold PVD-plated stainless steel case and a green dial inspired by the Japanese black pine. The watch is powered by the caliber 6R51 with a 72-hour power reserve and is limited to 2,000 pieces, priced at 1,400 euros.
