Seiko launches limited-edition Presage watch inspired by bonsai

Seiko has announced the launch of the Presage Classic Series x Tradman’s Bonsai (Ref. HCC009J1), a limited-edition timepiece inspired by the traditional Japanese art of bonsai. The collaboration with Tokyo-based Tradman’s Bonsai aims to blend Japanese craft aesthetics with modern horology.

The 38mm watch features a gold-colored PVD-coated stainless steel case and bracelet, designed to represent moonlight. The dial is rendered in “matsuba-iro” green, a traditional color associated with longevity and vitality, and features a 3D texture inspired by the bark and needles of a Japanese black pine tree. To maintain dial symmetry and focus on the bonsai motif, the watch utilizes a “no-date” configuration.

Technically, the timepiece is powered by Seiko’s in-house Calibre 6R51 automatic movement, which provides a 72-hour power reserve. The watch is water-resistant up to 100 meters. Production is limited to 2,000 units worldwide, with expected shipping beginning in September 2026.
