Seiko to release limited edition Shohei Ohtani Astron watch

Seiko Watch has announced the release of a limited edition ‘Shohei Ohtani Model’ (HAB012J) as part of its Seiko Astron Nexter series. Scheduled for release on November 7, the watch will be available exclusively in Japan with a production run of 1,700 units.

The design incorporates the blue, white, and red colors from the Los Angeles Dodgers' home uniforms. A sub-dial at the 3 o'clock position features Ohtani’s jersey number, ‘17’, in the same font used on his uniform. The watch also includes blue accents on the side buttons and crown.

Technical specifications include a GPS solar quartz movement (Caliber 5X63) providing dual time, stopwatch, and world time functions. The case and bracelet are made of titanium with a diamond shield coating, and the watch features sapphire glass with a super clear coating. It offers 10 bar water resistance and has a case diameter of 43.4 mm.

The package includes a two-tone silicone replacement strap inspired by Ohtani’s ‘two-way’ playing style, which can be easily swapped using Seiko’s ‘Smart Switch’ mechanism. The case back is engraved with Ohtani’s signature and a serial number, and the watch comes in a special collector's box.
