Turkish court delays trial of 15 defendants in Narin Güran murder case

Eight‑year‑old Narin Güran disappeared on 21 August 2024 in the Tavşantepe neighbourhood of Diyarbakır’s Bağlar district and was found dead on 8 September. The main perpetrators – mother Yüksel Güran, brother Enes Güran and uncle Salim Güran – have had their life‑sentence convictions upheld by the Court of Cassation.

A separate “facilitating the crime” proceeding involves fifteen additional suspects, including three juveniles. The case was scheduled for a hearing on 1 October 2024 after the defence lawyers requested a postponement.
