Brazil observes National Traffic Week with safety campaigns
Various regions across Brazil are conducting educational campaigns and safety measures in observance of National Traffic Week. In Pernambuco, data shows that human behavior accounts for up to 97% of accidents on certain highways, prompting calls for increased driver attention.
In Salvador, Transalvador organized a 'Pit Stop' event in Piatã, offering lectures, vehicle safety checklists, and helmet giveaways to promote safer driving habits. Similarly, in Manaus, the IMMU held an educational blitz specifically for motorcyclists to emphasize defensive driving and proper equipment use.
Other regional efforts include educational lectures for children in Nova Olímpia and theatrical performances in Ubatuba to teach traffic rules through play.
