Sejong athletes win five medals at Aichi-Nagoya Asian Para Games

The Sejong Special Self-Governing City athletic delegation secured five medals—one gold and four silver—at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Para Games held in Japan.

Shooter Jo Jeong-du led the delegation by winning gold in the Men's 10m Air Pistol (SH1) with a new games record of 241.3 points. This achievement marks the first Asian Para Games gold medal for a South Korean athlete in this specific event. Jo also earned a silver medal in the Mixed 50m Pistol (SH1).

Other medalists included Choi Jae-yun, who won silver in the Mixed 25m Pistol (SH1), and fencer Shim Jae-hoon, who secured two silver medals in the Mixed Épée team and Mixed Sabre team events.

The competition, which took place from October 18 to 24, featured approximately 4,000 participants from 45 countries competing across 18 different sports.
