Sejong bus crashes into commercial building after veering onto sidewalk
A rapid transit (BRT) bus crashed into a commercial building in Dodam-dong, Sejong, South Korea, on June 7. The vehicle veered onto the sidewalk at high speed, striking several bicycles before hitting a storefront.
A mother and her young son narrowly escaped injury when she pulled him away from the path of the oncoming bus. While pedestrians fled the scene, the bus caused damage to shop windows and interior furnishings.
The accident resulted in injuries to the bus driver, approximately 40 years old, and one passenger, both of whom were transported to a hospital. There were six passengers on board at the time. No injuries were reported inside the shopping center. Police are investigating the incident, citing potential driver negligence as a factor.
