Seçkin Pirim exhibition 'Dün ile Bugün' opens at Istanbul’s Şerefiye Sarnıcı
Contemporary artist Seçkin Pirim’s exhibition “Dün ile Bugün” is on display in the 1,600‑year‑old Şerefiye Sarnıcı in Istanbul, running through 31 August. The show features multilayered sculptures and column‑like forms that dialogue with the historic underground cistern, inviting visitors to explore the connection between past and present. Pirim said, “Dün ile Bugün, geçmiş ile gelecek arasında bağ kuran ve izleyiciyi şaşırtan bir seçki sunuyor,” while Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Culture AŞ director Cenk Akın highlighted the venue’s role as a living cultural hub for both locals and tourists.
The Şerefiye Sarnıcı also hosts a weekly program of concerts, theater, film screenings and other exhibitions, such as Baroque music concerts, a performance of *Amadeus*, a drama film featuring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, and Yoko Ono’s “İçses ve İçyapı” exhibition, underscoring the site's broader function as a focal point for diverse cultural activities.
